BIO

Laura M. Pavy is a native of Opelousas, Louisiana where her family has practiced law for generations. She graduated from Loyola University College of Law in 1992 and began her career clerking in the Criminal Staff of the Louisiana Third Circuit Court of Appeal. After her two-year clerkship, Laura began a lengthy career as an appellate attorney with the Louisiana Appellate Project. She has written hundreds of briefs and petitioned for writs on behalf of numerous indigent defendants, and she has orally argued in state appellate courts. Laura subsequently began a civil law career managing litigation and auditing one of the nation’s top consumer defense law firms. She is the mother of two adult children and lives in the Lower Garden District with her husband of 21 years. She loves to cook and is an avid yoga practitioner.
