BIO
William H. Syll, Jr. is a New Orleans native who attended Tulane University and obtained a BS in Mechanical Engineering. After serving as an officer in the Navy for three years with the Seabees, he returned to Tulane for his JD. While there, he was a member of the winning two-member team of the Voluntary Moot Court Competition. He has over twenty-five years of experience in defending insurance companies and their insureds in litigation including products liability, single vehicle accidents, and almost any type of personal injury claim. He worked as staff counsel for The Travelers Insurance company as well as AIG insurance and the RTA. Most recently he served with the State Department as a consular officer in Guadalajara and Manila, and as a Consular Section Chief in Ottawa. This was followed by service with the Department of Homeland Security, USCIS, as an Immigration Services Officer. He is admitted to the state and federal courts of Louisiana as well as the U.S. Supreme Court. William is married, with two daughters and three grandsons. He is an avid philatelist and amateur radio operator and is reasonably fluent in both French and Spanish.
